Jin Xuan tea is a new variety of oolong tea made from TTES No.12. It is about 20% fermented, and its sweet milky aroma and soft taste are popular among women.

This is a relatively new variety, developed by the Taiwan Tea Improvement Station in 1981.

Jin Xuan Tea was developed by crossbreeding In-Zi-Hon-Shin and Tai Nong No. 8. In-Zi-Hon-Shin is an oolong tea variety that has been cultivated in Taiwan for a long time, and is characterized by its strong aroma and deep flavor. On the other hand, Tai Nong No. 8 is a black tea variety cultivated in Taiwan, and is characterized by its sweet aroma.

Jin Xuan tea inherits the best qualities of these parent varieties, and is characterized by a sweet floral fragrance and a mellow, smooth taste. In addition, it is relatively easy to cultivate and produces a large yield, so it is cultivated all over Taiwan.

Characteristics of Jin Xuan Tea

Jin Xuan tea has the following characteristics:

  • Fragrance: Sweet floral scent
  • Taste: Mellow and smooth
  • Color: Bright golden yellow

Jin Xuan tea takes on a variety of flavors depending on the degree of fermentation.

  • Light fermentation: The taste is similar to green tea, with a stronger sweet aroma.
  • Medium fermentation: A typical oolong tea flavor with a well-balanced mellowness and aroma.
  • Heavy fermentation: The taste is similar to black tea, with more depth and richness.

Jin Xuan tea can be enjoyed in a variety of ways.

  • Brew with boiling water: This allows you to fully enjoy the aroma and flavor.
  • Brew with cold water: This will result in a mellow, smooth flavor.
  • Brewing in a teapot: Brings out the aroma of the tea leaves and creates a refined flavor.
